Donations Welcome

As we begin to prepare for the new academic year, we would be very grateful for donations of any school items that are no longer needed and remain in good condition.

We are particularly looking for:

  • Revision guides
  • Scientific calculators
  • PE tops, including branded PE T-shirts, branded ¼-zip tops and plain black PE sweatshirts (no logos or hoodies)
  • Plain black tracksuit bottoms (no logos)
  • Plain black shorts (mid-thigh, no logos)
  • School blazers
  • Black V-neck jumpers
  • Ties
  • Skirts
  • Winter Coats
  • Trainers/Astro-turf boots

Donated items help us support families across our College community and ensure pupils have access to the equipment and uniform they need.

If you have any items you would like to donate, please drop them off at Main Reception.

Late bus and after-school activities

Please note that there will be no late bus service on Wednesday, 24 June and Thursday, 25 June 2026.

As a result, all after-school clubs and activities, including homework club, will be cancelled on both days, and all pupils should make arrangements to leave the College at the end of the normal school day.

KS3 Fitness Club

Fitness club equipment including two stair-climber machines with digital screens in a gym setting.Please note that KS3 Fitness Club has now ended for the academic year and will not be running for the remainder of the summer term.

We would like to thank all pupils who have attended throughout the year and look forward to welcoming them back to future fitness and sporting activities.
 

Swanmore College Careers Fair 2026: Invitation for Exhibitors

Planning is underway for our upcoming school Careers Fair, and we are inviting our parent community to help us broaden the range of industries on display. If your employer or business would be interested in hosting a stand to inspire our pupils, we would be delighted to hear from you.

We welcome representation from all sectors—including healthcare, trades, tech, finance, and the creative arts—regardless of company size.

Event Details:

  • Date: Thursday 8 October 2026

  • Time: 4:00pm – 6:00pm

  • Location: School Hall

  • Cost: There is no charge for organisations to participate.

Year 9

Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award

The logo represents The Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme.Applications are now open for current Year 9 pupils who would like to take part in the Silver Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award during 2026-27.

The award provides pupils with the opportunity to develop new skills, volunteer in their community, take part in physical activities and complete an expedition with friends. Pupils do not need to have completed the Bronze Award to apply for Silver DofE.

Expedition training will take place through the DofE enrichment programme during the Spring Term 2027, with expeditions planned for later in the academic year.

 

An email containing full details about the award, application process, expedition dates and associated costs will be sent to parents and carers.

Work Experience Placements: Important Deadline

This is a reminder that the final deadline for pupils to add any new work experience placements onto the system is Wednesday, 01 July 2026.

Please ensure that all placement details have been fully completed and submitted by this date so they can be processed and approved in time.

University of Southampton: Ocean and Earth Science Residential Taster Course (Y11)

Year 11 pupils are invited to apply for an exciting one-night residential taster course at the University of Southampton. Places are limited, and applications will close soon.

This short residential gives pupils the chance to explore geology, geography, and oceanography through practical activities, including time spent aboard the research vessel Callista.

  • Dates: 20–21 July 2026

  • Location: University of Southampton

  • Cost: £270 (bursaries may be available)

  • Benefits: Upon completion, pupils will receive the Silver Industrial Cadets Award, a nationally recognised accreditation that can strengthen future university, apprenticeship, and employment applications.

Heelan Associates: Careers Open Morning

NHS Allied Healthcare Virtual Work Experience

Pupils interested in healthcare can now register for the NHS Allied Healthcare Virtual Work Experience Programme. This live online session focusses on how multidisciplinary teams collaborate to deliver patient-centred care.

What the Experience Offers:

  • Patient Journey Insights: Follow realistic patient scenarios to see how different professionals assess, diagnose, and treat individuals.

  • Career Exposure: Learn about a wide range of roles, including Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedicine, Physiotherapy, Radiography, and Pharmacy.

  • Application Support: Strengthen university applications and receive a Certificate of Attendance to use as evidence of commitment.

  • Format: Live virtual session

St Swithun’s Girls’ Open – Hockley Golf Club

What: An 18-hole Stableford competition
Where: Hockley Golf Club on the outskirts of Winchester
When: Saturday, 19 September 2026

Join for an exciting afternoon of competitive but friendly golf, with tee times from 1pm onwards.  

It’s a fantastic opportunity for schools to be represented, meet fellow girl golfers, and enjoy the beautiful course in a fun and sociable setting. 

The entry fee for the event is £37 per player which includes prizes, range tokens, goodie bag and burger & chips after play.
