College Council
Welcome to the College Council
We are proud to represent the voice of pupils across Swanmore College. Our role is simple: we listen to your ideas and opinions, share them with senior staff, and work together to make positive changes across the College community.
Your voice matters - speak to your tutor representatives and help make a difference at Swanmore College!
How the Council Works
The College Council works alongside our KS3 and KS4 Year Councils to ensure everyone is represented:
- Tutor Representatives: Each tutor group elects one or two representatives who gather ideas, suggestions, and feedback from their form.
- Year Councils: Representatives attend KS3 or KS4 Year Council meetings to discuss ideas and find practical ways to improve everyday College life.
- College Council: Key ideas from the Year Councils are brought to the main College Council, ensuring pupils from every year group are heard.
- Working with Staff: We meet regularly with senior leaders to share pupil feedback, discuss new initiatives, improve facilities, and support pupil wellbeing.
How to Find Us and Get Involved
- Spotting Us: All members of the College Council wear official College Council badges around the site, making us easy to identify.
- Sharing Your Views: If you have an idea, suggestion, or concern, please approach any member of the College Council or speak to your tutor group representative. We are always happy to listen and help.
Developing Leadership Skills
Being part of the Year Council or College Council is a great opportunity to build valuable skills, including:
- Leadership and Communication
- Teamwork and Collaboration
- Problem-Solving
We believe every pupil should feel listened to, respected, and involved in the future of our College. At Swanmore College, we know that the best ideas often come from the pupils themselves.
