Parents’ Evenings are a valuable opportunity to connect directly with subject teachers, celebrate progress, and discuss how we can work together to support your child’s learning journey.

Why Attend Parents’ Evening?

While school reports give you key numerical data - such as working-at grades, and grades for effort and independent learning  - Parents’ Evenings give you the chance to speak directly with teachers to learn more about how your child is doing in school.

• Understand the Bigger Picture: 5-minute verbal updates from individual subject teachers provide deeper insight into your child's progress, strengths, and areas for improvement.
• Personalised Feedback: Discover practical, specific ways you can support your child's learning at home.
• Work Together: Ask questions, share relevant information, and build strong connections with the staff who teach your child every day.

How Appointments Work

Parents’ Evenings are held online using SchoolCloud, allowing you to attend 5-minute virtual appointments with subject teachers from home, or wherever you are.

• Booking Notification: When appointment booking opens for your child’s year group, you will receive an email containing a direct link to the SchoolCloud booking system.
• Need Help Booking? If you experience any issues or need assistance making your appointments, please email our support team at: parentsevening-help@swanmore-sec.hants.sch.uk
• Reminders: As the date(s) get closer, we will publish reminders about the upcoming evenings on social media and on Swan Bites, our weekly newsletter. If you have already booked your appointments, you will receive an email reminder from SchoolCloud with details of the date(s) and times of each of your appointments, a link to make changes, and another to join the video call.

Unable to Attend?

We understand that work commitments or family life mean you may not always be able to attend.

If you cannot attend your child's Parents' Evening, please contact their Tutor. Your child's tutor will arrange for individual feedback as written notes to be gathered from their subject teachers and sent home to you. You can email them by simply prefacing @swanmore-sec.hants.sch.uk with the name of their Tutor group, for example:

You Do Not Have to Wait for Parents’ Evening

If you ever have a query, question, or pastoral concern about your child’s wellbeing or academic progress, please do not wait for Parents’ Evening.

We are always happy to help. You can reach out to your child's pastoral team, tutor, or heads of department at any time during the school year.
