Year 7 (4): How have the experiences of migrants changed over time and how have they shaped the country that we live in today?

Overview

To give an understanding how migration has shaped the world we live in today. To study using concepts such as cause, consequence and change over time.  

The main UN Rights of a Child covered are 8. Identity and 22. Refugee children.

Migration 

People moving from one place to another. It is the "big" word for any kind of move.

Emigrate 

To exit or leave your own country to live somewhere else.

Refugee

Someone forced to leave their home because it is not safe due to war or danger.

Immigrant 

Someone who comes into a new country to live there

Economy 

The way a country manages its money, including how things are made, bought, and sold.
