A young carer is someone under 18 who helps to look after a relative with a disability, illness, mental health condition, or drug or alcohol problem.
If you believe you are a Young Carer, please speak to your Deputy Head of Year who can refer you to the Young Carer contacts in school.

Young Carers - Silver Award

We are very pleased to announce that Swanmore College have been granted the Young Carers Silver Award by The Children’s Society, for the work we do with our young carers.

Miss Primmer and Miss Davies run a young carers session every Friday during tutor. This session gives pupils a chance to get to know other young carers in the school. We provide a free breakfast and provide fun activities for pupils who attend the sessions.

If you believe your child is a young carer, please contact your child’s Deputy Head of Year/Tutor who can refer you to the Young Carers team.
