Postcard 2: Looking after your mental wellbeing

As September gets closer, pupils may be feeling excited, curious or a little anxious about starting secondary school. These feelings are completely normal, and many children experience a mixture of emotions before beginning Year 7.
One of the most helpful things families can do is encourage open conversations about any worries pupils may have, while also reminding them of the exciting opportunities ahead. Building positive routines, staying active and getting plenty of rest can also make a real difference during the summer holidays.
At Swanmore College, we place great importance on supporting pupils’ wellbeing. We work hard to ensure every child feels welcomed, valued and supported as they settle into school life.
We cannot wait to welcome our new Year 7 families to the College community in September.
