What a fantastic week it has been for Swanmore College sport, brimming with impressive performances, inspiring leadership, and outstanding individual achievements! From the cricket pitch to the tennis court, the athletics track, and the basketball court, our pupils have once again demonstrated their dedication, skill, and good spirit.
Year 10 Sports Leaders Shine at Wickham Park Primary
On Wednesday, a group of our talented Year 10 Sports Leaders took their expertise to Wickham Park Primary School, assisting with their Sports Day. We received wonderful feedback from the school, praising the exemplary conduct and enthusiasm of our pupils. A huge well done to Sam, Hugo, Ria, and Jasmine for doing us proud – your leadership and support made a real difference!
U13 Cricket Team Kicks Off Season with Thrilling Win
Our U13 Cricket team began their season with an exhilarating win against Wyvern School. In a truly tense game that went right down to the very last ball, our team secured victory needing just two runs to win. What a start to the season! The team were back in action against Deer Park, where they unfortunately faced a loss. We look forward to seeing them bounce back in their upcoming fixtures.
Year 9/10 Boys Tennis Team Dominates LTA Youth Schools League
The Year 9/10 Boys Tennis Team continued in the LTA Youth Schools League, hosting Meoncross in a league game yesterday. Both teams displayed some incredibly high-quality tennis, but our boys emerged victorious, winning 5 out of 6 games. Well played, boys! We eagerly await the announcement of their next opponents.
U13 Boys Athletics Team Competes in Track Knockout Semi-Finals
Our U13 Boys Athletics Team put in a strong performance at the Track Knockout Semi-Finals, held at Southampton Sports Centre on Tuesday. In a highly competitive event, our boys performed exceptionally well, finishing 4th overall. We are now eagerly awaiting news to see if this outstanding effort is enough to qualify them for the finals!
Matty's Basketball Success on the National Stage
A huge shout-out and congratulations go to Year 8 pupil Matty, who has achieved remarkable success at a recent Basketball England interregional tournament. Representing the South England U13 boys, Matty not only competed brilliantly but also received a well-deserved award. His team played against three other regions, including the Welsh national team. Matty received his award directly from the Basketball England Talent Manager, a testament to his hard work and talent. We are incredibly proud of Matty's achievement!
