Swanmore Art on Display at St Barnaby’s Café

Swanmore College launches a new community partnership with St Barnabas Church café to showcase pupil artwork each month.
We are delighted to announce a new collaborative initiative between Swanmore College and St Barnaby’s Café at St Barnabas Church, Swanmore. Each month, a selection of artwork created by Swanmore pupils will be exhibited on one of the café walls, giving our young artists the chance to share their work with the wider community.
The first display features these fantastic coloured pencil doughnuts, created by some of our Year 7 artists during art lessons last term. While producing these pieces, pupils developed their observational drawing skills and learned how to blend and layer coloured pencils to build rich tones using secondary and tertiary colours.
St Barnaby’s Café is a well-used local space that welcomes visitors from across the community. Open every day except Sunday and Monday, it provides a wonderful opportunity for pupils’ artwork to be enjoyed beyond the classroom.
All exhibited work is carefully mounted and framed and will remain on display for a month before the next collection of student artwork is installed.
We are incredibly proud of our young artists and excited about this new opportunity to celebrate their creativity within the local community.
