Changes to the College's Leadership From 01 June 2026

Parents and Carers have been notified of a change to Swanmore College's leadership structure, which will take effect from 1 June 2026.

From this date, Mr Jonathan will be moving into the role of Executive Headteacher. This position will have a more strategic focus, including working with other schools to identify and embed best practice, as well as leading on significant project work to further strengthen our provision.

He would also like to take this opportunity to inform you of his intention to retire on 31 August 2027. This planned transition is designed to provide clarity, stability and continuity in leadership over the coming year. Of significant importance is that these changes will ensure there is no period of transient leadership. The College will continue to benefit from clear direction and strong, consistent leadership, enabling us to maintain our momentum and continue to thrive and move forward.

For the interim period, the day-to-day running of the College will be led by Mrs Amanda Griffiths, who will take on the role of Head of School until 31 August 2027. Many of you will already know Mrs Griffiths well through her work as Deputy Headteacher, and Mr Jonathan is confident the College will continue to go from strength to strength under her leadership.

Mr Jonathan will, of course, remain closely involved in the life of the College and will continue to work alongside Mrs Griffiths and the wider leadership team to support our staff and pupils.
