Languages and landmarks take centre stage

Last week, pupils at Swanmore College joined schools across Europe in celebrating European Day of Languages.

As part of the celebrations, some pupils in Modern Foreign Languages lessons put their geographical knowledge to the test with a special ‘Name the landmarks’ activity, identifying famous sights from across Europe.

The celebrations continued on Friday lunchtime, when the Main Hall hosted a showcase of European landmarks created by pupils. The impressive models included two particularly recognisable sights – the Eiffel Tower and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

It was a great opportunity to celebrate the languages, cultures and places that make Europe so diverse, while giving pupils the chance to get creative and learn something new along the way.
