Our 2026 GCSE results

Swanmore College is celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results, with pupils achieving significant improvements across a number of key measures compared with last year.

Results at a glance:

• 80% achieved grade 4+ in English and Maths
• 51% achieved grade 5+ in English and Maths
• 70% achieved grade 5+ in English
• 59% achieved grade 5+ in Maths
• 30% of all entries achieved grades 7–9, up from 24% last year and above the national average of 22%
• 81% of all entries achieved grades 4–9, up from 77% last year and above the national average of 67%
• 80% of core subject entries achieved grade 4 or above

According to the Fisher Family Trust (FFT) Results Service for the 2025-26 school year, this means that:

• 14 subjects achieved results that were significantly above national average
• 12 subjects achieved value-added scores that were significantly above national average
• 10 subjects were significantly above national average in both the results achieved and the value-added scores.

Executive Headteacher, Kyle Jonathan said: “We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 pupils and the results they have achieved. These results are a reflection of their hard work, determination and resilience, and they should be immensely proud of what they have accomplished.

Head of School, Amanda Griffiths said: “Particularly pleasing is the progress we have made this year. The proportion of pupils achieving grades 7–9 across all entries has risen from 24% to 30%, significantly above the national average of 22%. Similarly, 81% of all entries achieved a grade 4 or above, up from 77% last year and well ahead of the national figure of 67%.

“These results are encouraging given that the national picture has remained largely static compared with last year. They demonstrate the progress our pupils have made and the impact of the commitment and ambition within our school community.

“Behind every result is a huge amount of hard work. We want to congratulate our pupils for their dedication, thank our teachers and support staff for their expertise and commitment, and recognise the encouragement and support provided by families throughout the year.

“We are immensely proud of this year group. They leave Swanmore with a strong foundation for their future, and we are excited to see what they go on to achieve. We wish every one of them every success.”
