Leadership, creativity and collaboration took centre stage as Arts Award pupils led a hands-on workshop for pupils from Swanmore Primary School.

A group of Swanmore College pupils recently welcomed pupils from Swanmore Primary School for a creative skills workshop as part of their Arts Award, providing a fantastic opportunity to showcase their artistic talents while developing valuable leadership skills.

Planned and delivered entirely by our Arts Award pupils, the workshop introduced the younger children to the work of celebrated artist Sonia Delaunay before guiding them through a series of creative activities inspired by her bold use of colour, pattern and shape.

Throughout the session, our pupils confidently presented instructions, demonstrated artistic techniques and supported the primary pupils as they explored their own ideas. It was wonderful to see them taking responsibility for the workshop and encouraging the younger pupils to develop their creativity and confidence.

The event not only gave the primary pupils the chance to learn new artistic skills, but also allowed our Arts Award pupils to strengthen their communication, teamwork and leadership skills in a real-world setting.

A huge well done to everyone involved for delivering such an engaging and inspiring workshop, and thank you to Swanmore Primary School for joining us. It was a fantastic example of pupils learning together, sharing their creativity and supporting one another.
