Swanmore College has received Gold and Bronze awards from EMTAS, recognising our commitment to inclusion and support for pupils from diverse backgrounds.
We are delighted to announce that Swanmore College has been awarded Gold for our provision for pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Bronze for our support of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) pupils by the Ethnic Minority and Traveller Achievement Service (EMTAS).
These awards recognise the College's commitment to celebrating diversity, promoting inclusion and ensuring that every pupil feels valued, supported and encouraged to succeed.
Our commitment to celebrating linguistic diversity is also reflected in the fantastic achievements of pupils who sat GCSE examinations in their heritage languages this year:
-
Fatima M: Grade 9 in Urdu
-
Ben W: Grade 8 in Polish
-
Matilda B: Grade 8 in Italian
These excellent results highlight the linguistic talents of our pupils and the rich variety of languages spoken across our College community.
A huge thank you to all staff who have contributed to these achievements, particularly those who have supported pupils through the development of vocabulary resources, including word banks, and helped facilitate heritage language examinations.
We are incredibly proud of this recognition, our pupils' achievements and the continued work taking place across the College to make Swanmore a welcoming and inclusive community for all.
