Summer Concert Showcases the Incredible Talent of Swanmore Musicians

From film scores and rock classics to jazz, choir performances and outstanding soloists, our Summer Concert celebrated the incredible musical talent of pupils across Swanmore College.
The Main Hall was filled with music on Monday evening as pupils from across Swanmore College came together for this year's Summer Concert, performing everything from film scores and classical favourites to rock, jazz and contemporary hits.
The concert showcased the breadth of musical talent across the College, with performances from the Concert Band, Year 7 Band, Chamber Orchestra, Chamber Choir, Swanmore Sessions, Jazz Ensemble and Main Choir, alongside a number of impressive solo and duet performances.

Highlights included the Concert Band opening with Pirates of the Caribbean and Best of Queen, before Evie C and Abi W performed For the First Time in Forever (Reprise) and Amelie B and Emily M delighted the audience with a violin duet of Offenbach's Can-Can. The Year 7 Band brought plenty of energy with rock classics, while Evie F performed her original song, Why Try?, and Daisy E impressed with Don't You Worry Child.

The second half featured classic rock from Swanmore Sessions, lively performances from the Jazz Ensemble, and memorable solo performances from Gabrielle T, George O and Arthur S. The evening concluded with a fantastic finale from the Main Choir, ending the concert with an uplifting performance of A Million Dreams.

A huge thank you goes to Mr Beer, Mrs Kimber and Miss Shaw for preparing the performers, Miss Thorne and Lincoln T (Year 9) for sound and lighting, Miss Broach, Ewan C, Dylan W and Dylan T for backstage support, Mrs Payne and the SPA for refreshments, Miss Luce and Mrs Hockin for producing the concert programme and photography, and the College's Site Team for preparing the hall and equipment.
Most importantly, congratulations to every pupil who performed, sang, played or supported behind the scenes. Their talent, commitment and enthusiasm made for a wonderful evening of music enjoyed by families, friends and staff alike.
