Year 10 Boys Football Enjoy League and Cup success

Our Year 10 Boys Football team enjoyed an excellent two days of football this week, achieving wins in both the District League and the District Cup.

On Monday, the team travelled to Henry Beaufort School for their final District League match of the season, knowing that a win would put them in a strong position to secure the league title. The boys delivered an impressive performance, winning 4–1. Goals were scored by Jamie (2), Luke and Archie. Thanks to a significantly stronger goal difference, the result now places Swanmore in a very strong position to finish top of the league.

The following day, the team were back in action at home, hosting Mountbatten School in the District Cup Semi-Final. It proved to be a closely contested match between two strong sides, with the game finishing level at full time and going to a penalty shootout. Swanmore held their nerve to win the shootout and progress to the District Final, rounding off an excellent couple of days for the team.

Year 8 Girls Compete in Netball Tournament

On Tuesday, a team of Year 8 girls travelled to Thornden School to take part in a Netball tournament. The team improved with each match they played, with the highlight being a win against Henry Beaufort School.

It was particularly encouraging to see several pupils representing Swanmore for the first time, showing great commitment and teamwork.

Year 9 Boys Fall Narrowly in Cup Semi-Final

On Monday, our Year 9 Boys Football team hosted Toynbee School in their District Cup Semi-Final. Swanmore started strongly and built a 2–0 lead, but Toynbee fought back to win 3–2.

Despite the disappointing result after such a promising start, the team showed great effort and determination throughout the match.

GCSE PE Girls Gain Badminton Match Experience

Our Year 10 GCSE PE girls hosted Perins School for a Badminton fixture on Monday. The matches provided valuable competitive experience, helping pupils to develop their skills and confidence ahead of their Badminton assessment as part of the GCSE PE course.
