It was a week packed with standout performances, playoff victories and championship celebrations across a range of sports. Our pupils represented the College with determination, resilience and pride.

U14 Boys Basketball

Under 14 Boys Basketball Reach the Final

Our Under 14 Boys Basketball Team travelled to Toynbee School in Chandler’s Ford for a league playoff fixture. In a tense and tightly contested game, the boys secured a superb 60–53 victory.

The win means they have now qualified for the Under 14 Final, which will be played later this term. A fantastic achievement and a brilliant team effort.

Under 16 Boys Basketball Secure Knockout Spot

The Under 16 Boys Basketball Team hosted Sholing School in a league fixture and delivered a strong all-round performance. The boys deservedly won 59–33, demonstrating control and composure throughout. This result confirmed their place in the knockout stage of the competition. A well-earned success for the team.

Key Stage 3 Badminton Teams Impress

On Wednesday, a team of Key Stage 3 girls and boys travelled to Deer Park School to take part in a School Games badminton fixture.

 Both teams performed brilliantly, finishing second in their respective competitions and giving their opponents some excellent games. A fantastic effort from all involved.

 

Year 9 Boys Football Claim District League Win

Our Year 9 Boys Football Team hosted Mountbatten School in a closely fought District League fixture.

In a competitive match with quality football on display from both sides, Swanmore secured a 2–0 victory. Goals from Louis and Alfie sealed the win, alongside a Player of the Match performance from Ali. A strong and disciplined display from the team.

Year 7 Boys Maintain 100% Record

The Year 7 Boys travelled to Winchester to face The King’s School in an important District League fixture. With their opponents needing just one point to secure the league title, the pressure was high.

The boys rose to the challenge, earning a crucial 2–0 victory through goals from Jacob and Rory. They maintained their 100 percent league record and now sit just one win away from being crowned league champions.

As their season drew to a close, the Year 8 Boys travelled to Perins School knowing that one point would secure the District League title. 

In a composed and professional performance, the boys won 2–0, with both goals scored by Eddie. The result confirmed them as District League Champions, having won every league game this season. An outstanding achievement and a season to be proud of.

It was another exceptional week of sport at Swanmore College. Well done to all pupils who competed and represented the College with such commitment and pride. We look forward to more exciting fixtures in the weeks ahead.
