Some facts for you:

  • Class Charts is a two-way communication tool that will be ready for use from September 2024.
  • It provides Parents and Carers with information about their child in real time.
  • Parents, carers, and pupils will all receive their own log in codes.

 Background

Class Charts is an online platform designed to help you monitor and support your child's progress at school. As a parent and carer, you will be able to use Class Charts to:

  • Monitor Rewards and Behaviour: Keep track of your child's achievements and any behavioural issues.
  • Check Attendance: Stay updated on your child's attendance record.
  • Log Absences: Easily log any absences and provide reasons.
  • See Homework: Access information on homework assignments and deadlines.
  • See Homework Detentions: Be informed about any homework detentions your child may receive.

Pupil Voice

Pupils have told us that they want to receive more rewards for the work they do at school. They want rewards to be issued fairly, consistently and with more visibility to them via home and at school.  Alongside the other features listed, Class Charts will revolutionise how we can reward and celebrate pupil progress, effort, and achievement on a lesson-by-lesson, day-by-day and termly basis.

Q) The Biggest Challenge

A) Justifying the need for another digital platform between Home and School.

Class Charts will significantly improve the way we communicate and support your child's educational journey. Parents and carers consistently tell us in annual surveys that they want communication links with the school to improve and as a school we score weakly when rated for our ability to share information in a timely way.  There is also a common concern that most of our communication home is for negative reasons. Based on the case studies of schools who currently use this product, we believe Class Charts is the tool we have been looking for to both inform about and celebrate pupil life at Swanmore.
