We're excited to announce our Literacy Week Competition, starting today, Monday, 16 June 2025! This year, we're celebrating the richness of language with a creative challenge for all pupils in Years 7 to 10. We hope all pupils will get involved, and we encourage parents and carers to support the great talent we have here at the College.
We have been busy commemorating 80 years since VE Day this week.
Building on the results of the annual National Literacy Trust survey, we are now asking all Year 7 pupils to bring a reading book to school every day.
During Literacy Week, our KS3 pupils are taking part in a Readathon, raising money for children in hospital.
Literacy Week starts on Monday, 03 March, with World Book Day on Thursday, 06 March 2025.

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Swanmore College has placed 1st in the Through Their Eyes poetry competition, competing against over 7,000 poems submitted by students from 400 schools across the country!
The Young Writers' Through Their Eyes Poetry Competition is an annual event aimed at encouraging young poets to express their unique perspectives through poetry. Our Year 7 and 8 pupils picked up their pens and wrote a variety of poems from countless different perspectives!
