Year 7 & 8 Boys Tennis: A Strong First Season
On Monday, our Year 7 and 8 Boys Tennis Team travelled to Winchester for an LTA Youth Schools Tennis Quarter Final fixture against Westgate School. In challenging hot conditions, our team displayed remarkable determination and skill. Every game was closely contested, with some fantastic tennis on show from both sides. While they didn't progress to the Semi-Finals, the team can be incredibly proud of their performance throughout their first season in the LTA Youth Schools Tennis Competition. Well done, boys!
U15 Boys Cricket: A Fantastic Win at Wildern
Our U15 Boys Cricket team secured a brilliant victory in their League match against Wildern School earlier this week. Playing in hot and humid conditions, Swanmore batted first and set a strong target of 117 runs for 5 wickets. Wildern fought hard in their chase but were only able to manage 90 runs with no wickets remaining, resulting in a 27-run win for Swanmore! Congratulations, boys!
Year 9 & 10 Girls Volleyball: Strong Performance at Hampshire Finals
On Tuesday, our Year 9 & 10 Girls Volleyball Team travelled to Cams Hill School in Fareham to compete in the Hampshire Schools Volleyball Finals. Swanmore College was amongst five teams participating, alongside St Anne’s School, Priestlands School, and two teams from The Petersfield School. The standard of play was exceptionally high, and our girls competed with great determination and resilience, making it an amazing experience for the team. Finishing in 4th place in the Finals is a fantastic achievement, and we commend their hard work!
U15 Boys Cricket: Trojans Softball Festival Champions!
What an outstanding achievement for our Under 15 Boys Cricket team at the Softball Festival at Trojans Cricket Club on Tuesday! The team performed exceptionally well in the group stages, progressing to the quarter-finals, then the semi-finals, and ultimately winning the final! This is an amazing accomplishment from the boys. Highlights included a four from Dylan on the very last ball to win the semi-final, a hat-trick from Dylan in another game, and a superb one-handed catch on the boundary from Josh to dismiss a talented batsman. You are champions, boys! 🏆

Zac's Continued Success on the Athletics Track
A huge 'Shout Out' to Year 11 pupil Zac, who continues to impress with his exceptional performances on the Athletics track! Zac has once again been selected to represent Hampshire at the English Schools Track and Field Championships, taking place in Birmingham on Friday, 11 and Saturday, 12 July.
This marks Zac's third consecutive selection for English Schools – a truly remarkable achievement – and he consistently performs at an exceptional level:
-
He secured bronze in the intermediate boys 400m at last year's championships.
-
Earlier this month, he took silver at the South of England (SEAA) Championships at Crystal Palace.
-
He also secured second place at the indoor national championships in Sheffield in February.
-
He is the current Hampshire individual champion in both the 400m and 200m.
-
He is currently ranked in the top 5 in the UK for his age group over 400 metres.
The English Schools Championships is the highest-level athletics event for school-age athletes in the country, with only 70 competitors selected from each county. We wish Zac the very best of luck!
