This was coordinated by Mrs John and Mrs Straughan and alongwith the help of their tutor groups and numerous fundraising activities a total of £482.42 was raised.
The Two Saints Charity
This charity has been supported by for a number of years by Hawking House and offers accommodation, support and learning services to people who are homeless in the Hampshire and Portsmouth areas. Tutor groups were able to help with this through donations of tins of food and adult warm clothing which were essential to those people who found themselves homeless during the cold winter months. H7 tutor group coordinated all donations and this was presented to the charity during the Winter Term.
The 2 charities that Hawking House have also chosen to support during this academic year are the following:
A Local Charity
Sophie's Gift

This is a Fundraising Programme on behalf of the Wessex Neurological Trust to raise money to buy equipment for Southampton General Hospital.
An Overseas Charity
Nepal Schools Trust
This charity is working to help children and their schools in a region at the foot of the Himalayas in Nepal. All money raised will go towards the education of children and also the building of new classrooms.

Money has already been raised towards these charities during the last 2 terms which have included the sale of raffle tickets and also through the sale of tea and biscuits during staff briefings. More money is hoped to be raised during this term through some fun activities with all money going towards the above 2 charities.
Tutor Group Challenges
During each term a challenge has been undertaken by each tutor group.
In the autumn term this was a “Sporting” Challenge in the form of a basketball shooting competition and in the spring term it was in the form of a “Blockbuster” type of challenge which Will Short (House Captain) and Molly Dineen (Deputy House Captain) coordinated with all of the tutor groups.
The next challenge is going to be “Skills-based”. This will be notified to each tutor group shortly and will start in the near future.
There are another 2 categories which each tutor group is marked on during each term with trophies for each category being presented during the final assembly of each term. They are the following:
- Attendance
- Rewards and Sanctions
The winning tutor group for each category during the autumn term were the following:
| H1 | Tutor Group Challenge (basketball) |

With H6 the winning tutor group overall for the first term.
