We are
offering Year 9 the opportunity to participate in an after college
enrichment activity in Food Technology.
The focus will be cooking
with ingredients grown locally in Hampshire.
We intend to:-
- encourage pupils to have fun
designing dishes with a focus on local ingredients
- help pupils research local
produce
- encourage pupils to be creative
and to be ambitious with their ideas.
The plan is to run this
activity over a period of 4 weeks. Week 1 will involve a demonstration
and tasting of the products as well as planning ideas for the next 3
weeks of practical lessons.
Pupils will be making a selection of sweet and savoury products.
These sessions will be
held on Wednesday 1 February, Wednesday 8 February, Wednesday 22
February and Wednesday 29 February 2012 from 3.05 pm until 4.30 pm
in N block. The cost of this activity, which covers all ingredients,
will be £8. Pupils will need to bring their own containers to take the
products home (as discussed in the first session).
If your child is interested in participating in this
activity, please return the slip below together with payment (cash or
cheques acceptable) to Mrs Warren N Block Office in a labelled
envelope. Places are limited to 20 pupils.
