Pastoral Intervention Worker

37 hours per week – term time + 1 week (40 weeks).

8am – 4pm (Monday to Thursday) and 8am – 3.30pm (Friday)

Salary: - HCC Grade D £23,615.40 - £25,982.40 Actual (FTE £26,918 - £29,616)

This is an exciting opportunity to join our existing Pastoral team to provide pastoral support to pupils. The Pastoral Intervention Worker will work towards improving attendance, education opportunities and future life chances of pupils through 1:1 and small group interventions. The successful applicant will act as the Designated Mental Health Lead and will provide support for distressed pupils.

As the Pastoral Intervention Work you will:

  • Develop 1:1 mentoring support to pupils
  • Write intervention programs
  • Encourage pupils’ engagement with the education process by supporting behaviour for learning
  • Maintain appropriate pupils’ intervention records showing impact of the interventions
  • Work with pupils who are at risk of becoming Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and meet with their parents/carers
  • Complete home visits to support pupils’ attendance

The successful applicant must be able to work well with pupils in small group interventions and be an excellent communicator with good organisational skills. The ability to prioritise workloads and work to deadlines without supervision is also required.
