Swanmore College first opened its doors in April 1961, and is now 50 years old!
To celebrate the College's anniversary, Swanmore Parents' Association held a Reunion Picnic and Big Band Night on Saturday 18 June. Below are some photos from the day!
Following on from the success of last year’s quiz night we decided to hold another – and WHAT A SUCCESS it was! The weather was much kinder to us than last year – positively balmy, and we knew, as we had already had to close applications that we would have a full hall.
Twenty tables were set and prepared for what proved to be a fantastic evening – full of laughter and a healthy dose of competitiveness!
Kathy and Steve Frost were the Quiz Masters for the evening and they challenged the collective brain cells of Swanmore’s finest. Everything from local churches to music was thrown at us! (Some of us crumpled under the strain – or was that just our table?!) But others rose to the occasion with a fighting spirit not seen since last March!
The delicious ploughman’s proved a welcome distraction (as did the ale from the bar!) but finally the champions were announced: The Truants!
Congratulations to all....
But if you feel “You was robbed” ....... there will be another such night next year – so keep an eye on the school calendar – for it seems it will be a popular evening.
Once again, a huge thanks to everyone for all their help on the night and in the preparation leading up to it and especially to Kathy and Steve – who did a sterling job in setting and hosting the night.
Oh, and the amount raised on the night?
