ICT

ICT is an integrated learning tool used across all subjects at Swanmore. There are 4 dedicated ICT suites as well as large clusters of computers/laptops in several subject areas across the college.

All teachers have a laptop and there are data projectors or interactive whiteboards which are used to enhance teaching and learning in all subject areas.

At Swanmore we pride ourselves in delivering an ICT curriculum where pupils develop skills to tackle a multitude of problems in everyday life. Pupils are expected to produce ICT solutions which take account of the needs of the user/audience and therefore they have to consider carefully content, such as language and aesthetics. Whilst the National ICT standards are addressed additional features, applications and skills are introduced to extend the breadth and depth of knowledge, understanding and enjoyment. IT is a fast moving and dynamic industry. We see it as our duty to provide a range of opportunities for our pupils to develop the confidence and skills to adapt to new experiences and the diverse technological challenges of tomorrow.
